Direct Medical Expenses of Cancer Patients Undergoing Surgery in Ahvaz Teaching Hospitals

Background. Cancers are showing a rising trend in developing countries. In Iran, cancer is the third leading cause of death after cardiovascular diseases and accidents. The cost diagnosis treatment places heavy financial burden on health systems, requiring accurate assessments evaluations. Therefore, this study aimed to determine direct medical expenses patients undergoing surgery Ahvaz, teaching hospitals. Methods. This descriptive-analytical cross-sectional was conducted 2021. research population included Ahvaz Data collection done using clinical records hospital. Quantitative statistical indicators such as frequency, mean, standard deviation, tables were used for data analysis. addition, analytical independent samples t-test, one-way analysis variance (ANOVA), Pearson correlation coefficient, regression with SPSS22 software.
